Media Projects

Documentary film- We are currently casting and writing a documentary about the educational system in low income areas. We are working with students, parents, and teachers to bring attention to the inadequate education that some low income students are faced with. We want to focus on the causes and help find solutions that will empower students. We feel they can improve in Reading, Math, and Science with the proper support. Students From North Carolina A&T University will help with the development of the Documentary during the Spring Semester. To find out more about this project or to volunteer. Past Events

Barnes & Noble Book Fair- August 8th 2009

During this event we collected and bought enough books to give over 100 children the gift of literacy. The event was a huge success. We purchased and collected brand new books to give to children that are unable to afford new leisure books at home. Our volunteers and supporters worked diligently to ensure the success of this event. Our entertainment for this event was provided courtesy of Group D’oxala Capoeira Dancers.

The Prince and Princess Ball

November 14, 2009

Our Triad Prince and Princess Ball held at Castle McCulloch in Jamestown, benefited underprivileged children in the Triad. Our agency’s provided children ages 3 and up, with a day they will remember for the rest of their lives. The proceeds from the event helped benefit our scholarship program fund for the arts and music.

We had food, music, dancing, games, etiquette training, jewelry making, and much more fun for the entire family. The dress code for the event was formal and elegant, and many of the children we serve have never owned any sort of formal clothing.

We want to show the children that there is more to life and that if they dream big and work hard they can be anything they want to be. The Castle McCulloch located in Jamestown NC, represents elegance and royalty and was our prime choice for the event. An Etiquette Coach from Barbizon School of Modeling was present to give a wonderful training and a Mary Kay representative gave the girls makeovers.

  1. Deidra Boykin Says:

I was one of the Volunteers for the Prince & Princess Ball and I have to say that I had the time of my life along with the children. Seeing the happy smiles and the happiness in all of the children’s eyes that I had helped, colored with, and created crafts with-well it had just settled into my heart and made me want to help children out even more than before. It was amazing and it definitely went smoothly and the best thing of all: the children had a whole lot of fun and that’s what matters.

  2. Terril Boykin Says:

It was an honor to help organize this event and create a memory that will last a lifetime. To see the smiles on the children’s faces made all the hard work worth it. It’s easy to see the world from the perspective of an adult, but to view it from the eyes of a child is a blessing. The Ball was successful in expanding the imagination of the children, and giving them a place where they can become Princes and Princess.
